Weaving and embroidery combined
A machine which combines embroidery and weaving in one process is shown for the first time at ITMA. This embroidery weaving system is aimed at producing fabrics for e.g. curtains and shirting.
An extended technology has been developed as multiaxial technology for partial reinforcement of technical textiles. These innovations are available for air-jet and rapier weaving machines.
Other Dornier innovations include reduction of aramide filling waste to 2cm and weaving the heaviest multilayer conveyor belts with more than six warp systems.
Avoiding seconds and waste is the primary aim for all developments, helping to conserve resources. Optimising filling insertion elements and their activation using the new FT electronics has brought energy savings of more than 15%, according to Dornier.
