Kenyan Govt to provide business to Kitui garment factory
The KenyanGovernmentwill provide business to the Kitui CountyTextileCentre (KICOTEC), according to Interior cabinet secretary Fred Matiang’i, who toured the centre recently. Matiang'i said the textile factory was an embodiment of a county government keen to improve its people's livelihood. County governor Charity Ngilu took him on a tour of the factory.
President Uhuru Kenyatta, during his recent visit to the place, is said to have agreed to award KICOTEC the tender to make uniforms for all chiefs, according to Kenyan media reports.
The factory, set up last year, employs 300 youths.
